Trees symbolize the environmental movement. Accordingly, we run our business with the up-most respect to environmental consciousness.
We have an arrangement with another business that mulches all of our debris and resells it across the state. None of our debris ends up in a landfill. All of it finds way into a garden somewhere.
All Austin Tree Experts equipment purchases are made with fuel consumption in mind. The standard in the tree business is to use large, gas-guzzling dump trucks and with inefficient wood chippers. At Austin Tree Experts we use smaller trucks and trailer all debris to our partner who processes the mulch. Our trucks get twice the fuel efficiency of a standard tree service dump truck. We completely avoid the use of on-site wood chippers; these overworked machines are notorious for poor fuel efficiency and hydraulic failure that often result in oil spills.
Another benefit to not using on-site wood chippers is the elimination of air and noise pollution. These machines are extremely noisy and disturbing to your neighbors. The action of chopping all that wood creates enormous amounts of dust. Combined with the exhaust from the motor these pollutants make it uncomfortable to come within 100 yards of a wood chipper.
Treatment services for trees must address the concern of pesticide drift and fertilizer leaching. We have good solutions for both of these issues. For starters, we approach tree care with the knowledge that healthy trees usually deter pest and disease infestation on their own. Pesticides are only used after alternative treatments have proven unsuccessful, which is very uncommon. Our fertilizer services are engineered efficiently so that very little product needs to be applied and any leaching is very unlikely. By mixing our fertilizer with humates, the nutrients are more easily absorbed by the trees, and we time nitrogen applications in the fall when the roots need it the most. These two techniques allow us to reduces application rates and still achieve great results.
